Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC)

View on map

It occupies the land in the Ansio valley, formerly owned by Altos Hornos de Bizkaia. It was inaugurated on April 21, 2005, with some of its details being completed throughout that same year. It was designed by two engineering firms, Idom and Sener.

It occupies an area of 251,055 m2, of which 155,000 m2 are distributed among six single-story, column-free pavilions, thanks to a new construction system. The four smallest pavilions each exceed 15,000 m2.

Of the two remaining pavilions, number 4, called Bizkaia Arena, stands out. This venue can host all kinds of events—sports, theater, music, and more—with a capacity for 20,000 spectators. It has parking for 4,000 vehicles. It is accessible by road or by Metro, as the subway has a stop right next to the pavilions.
