Alcobendas Art Center

The Alcobendas Art Center was inaugurated in 2010 and is presented as a reference space for the visual arts, music, and literature in the Community of Madrid, with national and international projection thanks to the varied and excellent quality of its activities, which aim to provide access to contemporary culture and its educational knowledge.

The Art Center's activities are structured around several pillars: exhibition programming, a permanent music program, a comprehensive media library, a network of activities for children and adults, and the important and renowned Alcobendas Photography Collection, the result of the International School of Photography's presence in the city. This collection stands out as one of the most relevant and highest-quality in Spain.

The Alcobendas Art Center is the work of architects Fernando Parrilla Villafruela and María Isabel Muñoz Parrilla. It is a contemporary, unique, and emblematic building that sensually emerges from the city center to showcase its forms. It is worth mentioning that this building has received awards for its design. It was conceived as a sustainable building, equipped with ecological installations, through which it generates energy for self-consumption from the photovoltaic panels on its windows.

In addition, its roof is landscaped with a layer of wild vegetation like a tapestry, which, being native, requires no maintenance.
