A circular route that begins at the Valdelasfuentes Sports City and passes through the Extremadura and Cerro del Tambor parks, culminating at the Pichón Viewpoint, which offers beautiful views.

Accessible route suitable for all audiences.

  1.     Valdelasfuentes Train Station

The route starts and ends at Valdelasfuentes Train Station, located in the north of the municipality of Alcobendas. It is a modern and fully accessible train station. We begin the route by descending Calle Marqués de la Valdavia until we reach the Train Machine roundabout. At this point, we turn left onto Avenida de Camilo José Cela, arriving at Galicia Park.

  2.      Cruceiro Park of Galicia

In Galicia Park, we find a Cruceiro (Cruceiro), a symbol of the Galician landscape and an expression of popular devotion.

  3.     Granary

Following Camilo José Cela Avenue, leaving Galicia Park on the left, we arrive at the Hórreo monument, an agricultural building used to dry, cure, and store corn and other cereals before shelling and grinding them.

We will follow the signs for our walk to Monte de Valdelatas.

  4.     Mount Valdelatas

Upon reaching the entrance gates to Monte de Valdelatas, we must go through the one marked "pedestrian crossing" to gain entry. We are entering Monte de Valdelatas, a forested area belonging to the Community of Madrid.

We find species native to the Mediterranean forest. Among the mammals, rabbits are abundant, and we can find hares and small rodents such as the dormouse, red squirrel, and field mouse. Occasionally, foxes and wild boars can be spotted.

  5.     Contaminated Water Bridge

We follow the path until we come to some wooden Contaminated Water Bridges over the Vellagrande Stream. After these bridges, we continue along the path straight ahead, avoiding detours to the right or left. We reach a crossroads and take the path to the left. During this stretch, our walk passes through a beautiful pine forest, reaching an area where we can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view. We reach a crossroads and return along the path to the left, which leads back toward Alcobendas.

  6.    Vellagrande Stream

Upon reaching the intersection, we must take the path on the left to continue along a road that ends in a slope with a beautiful panoramic view.

  7.      Panorama

After climbing the slope of Patricia Lake, we can enjoy beautiful views of the countryside and Alcobendas, as well as downtown Madrid. We continue the route to a crossroads where we take the path on the left to return.

  8.      Contaminated Water Bridge

We follow this path until we reach a crossroads and continue left, reaching the bridge, which crosses the Valdeguilla stream. Following the path, we reach a crossroads and take the path to the right. We cross the bridges in the opposite direction to where we started our route through Monte de Valdelatas.

  9.      Picnic Area

After crossing the bridges, we turn right and find a picnic area, a space with tables where we can enjoy a pleasant picnic.

Continuing along this path we reach the exit gate of Monte de Valdelatas.

  10.      Yurena de las Heras Children's Park

We cross the metal bridge to reach Avenida de Peñalara. We pass the Yurena de las Heras Children's Park on our right. At the end of the walkway, we find Avenida del Monte de Valdelatas. We turn left, leaving the Alcobendas Industrial Park on our right. We cross Calle de la Pedriza and continue along Avenida del Monte de Valdelatas until we reach a roundabout where Calle de Siete Picos, among others, meets. We cross it and continue our walk. At the end of Avenida del Monte de Valdelatas, we find a roundabout where Avenida de Valdelaparra meets. We cross it, leaving the roundabout on our right, and continue along Avenida del Dr. Severo Ochoa.

  11.      Church of Saint Mary of Hope

It is characterized by its contemporary design, with elements that give it great luminosity and a sense of openness and welcome.

  12.      Pavilion of Dreams

We cross over the Parque de Andalucía and reach a roundabout leading to Paseo de la Chopera. Avenida de Doctor Severo Ochoa ends, leaving the Pavilion of Dreams on our right.

  13.      End of route. Valdelasfuentes train station

Right at the roundabout where Avenida de Dr. Severo Ochoa ends, we turn left onto Calle Marques de Valdavia to admire the end of our route, about 200 meters away. On the right, we see the Valdelasfuetes Train Station, the beginning and end of our journey.
