Galindo River

View on map

The Galindo River or Gariondo (next to the wheat field in Basque) is a river that runs along the border between the municipalities of Baracaldo and Sestao.

It consists of two branches: the Castaños River (originating from Mount Eretza in the Sasiburu mountain range) and the Ballonti Stream (originating from Mount Serantes), both of which eventually flow into the Bilbao estuary. The total length of the Castaños-Galindo basin is 15 km, with the Galindo River comprising only the last approximately 1.65 km.
