Mayor Pedro Zaragoza Avenue

View on map

The Alameda is one of the main arteries of the old town.

Along with the neighboring Alicante Street, it is considered to be the exit from one of the gates of the medieval wall towards Valencia, according to oral tradition and the suggestion of some local historians.

The oldest documents mention it by that name as early as 1803, and it probably had the same layout as today. With the demographic growth of the population,   From the end of the 17th century, it became an area of expansion, as the town within the walls became saturated, and housing began to be built in the plains. Thus, new neighborhoods such as El Calvari and the one we are currently in, El Bon Retiro, emerged.

Mayor Pedro Zaragoza Avenue

The current name is due to the former Mayor of Benidorm between 1950 and 1967, Mr. Pedro Zaragoza Orts, considered the precursor of today's modern city.

To the left we will continue until Angels Street, turning left again on Pal Street, to go down through point 8   Martinez Alejos, also a pedestrian and very busy street that will take us to point 9 Paseo de Levante
