Euskalduna - Maritime Museum

View on map

The Euskalduna Palace was conceived by its architects, Federico Soriano and Dolores Palacios, as a ship under construction emerging from the dock that once housed the Euskalduna Shipyard. Currently, the Palace hosts a host of business and cultural events, including the Opera season, one of the most important and prestigious in Europe.

In front of the Euskalduna Palace is one of the last remaining physical remains of the Euskalduna Shipyards: the Carola crane, red and imposing at 60 meters tall. It is said that it was named after a beautiful woman who used to cross the shipyards every day. At the foot of the Carola crane is the Maritime Museum, which immerses us in the history of the Bilbao Estuary and Port.
