It is located at the Muelle de Levante, next to the Odiel estuary and just a few minutes from the city center.
It owes its name to traditional boats, popularly known as canoes, which were originally steamers that traveled between Huelva and Punta Umbría. For a long time, they were the only means of transportation between the two towns until a road was built in 1964. Today, they serve as a recreational and tourist attraction.
