Hermitage of St. Isidore

View on map

Its construction began on 21 November 1897, the day on which its foundation stone was blessed. This project, which was initiated altruistically by Don Carlos Perote, began after a committee approached the Bishop to ask for his permission. In January 1895, the oil painted banner representing St. Isidore and St. Anthony the Great was commissioned. The figure of St. Isidore inside is joined by two oxen, and is known to have cost 500 pts. It arrived in the town on 2 June 1895.

Private estate where the hermitage is located, beside the municipal cemetery, built in 1897.
