Mundaka is famous for its wave, considered the best left-hand wave in Europe and one of the top 10 in the world, which attracts numerous surfers every year. This picturesque town on the Basque coast has always been linked to the sea.
Located on the left bank of the estuary that bears its name, you can stroll through its streets and enjoy the seaside atmosphere of the port and marvel at the fantastic views from Portuondo or the Atalaya . A short, leisurely stroll takes you to the Hermitage of Santa Catalina , where you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the mouth of the estuary.
Assisted swimming is offered on the small beach of Laidatxu, in Mundaka.
