35. "There is a Tower in Zamora", Jesús Matos “SKF” and Miguel Ángel Vadillo “Erik". 2023

Description of the work:

Inspired by Picasso's Blue Period, we predominantly use this color, capturing the sadness and melancholy emanating from a quasi-abandoned town, seemingly doomed to oblivion. A strong figure of a Zamoran woman, her skin tanned by the sun and cold, presides over the scene as an allegory of rural Zamora itself, of the harsh and noble life. Only a few rays of yellow light, emerging from where hearths once stood, break the oppressive coldness of the blue. It is the warmth of the stories, of the people, of the experiences of this town, revived in the corners where it spills. These are memories. And it is only with memories and memory that we can fight oblivion.
