Information for the Visit

Link to ‘Indications for Touching theTactile-Visual Plane’.

The exhibition is located in the Bonsai Glasshouse, a 150-square-metre room with a rectangular floor plan. This space serves as a winter refuge (from December to March) for some of the bonsais from the Real Jardín Botánico-CSIC, and our exhibition has the privilege of sharing the space with them. As you enter, the bonsais are positioned to the left.

Inside the room, you will find the exhibition plan on a lectern to the right. The exhibition space consists of an elongated corridor measuring 17 metres in length and 8 metres width. The route follows the perimeter of the room and is marked with a tactile-visual floor guide to ensure that visitors do not miss any details.

The exhibition includes:

● 40 photographs, mostly arranged in pairs of the same species, displayed on the walls of the hall. Each species is accompanied by a poster providing a brief description of what is depicted in the photograph.

● 3 information panels, explaining various aspects of our work, such as why we love working with seeds, how we collect and process them, how we prepare them for photography, and the regulations in place to protect them so that we can continue to enjoy them.

● 8 tactile photographs, placed on three tables at a height of 75 centimetres from the floor. Each photograph is accompanied by an explanatory sign to its left, written in Spanish, in an easy-to-read format as well as in Braille. The location of each tactile photograph is marked on the floor with a tactile-visual indicator.

The exhibition offers an audio guide, available in both Spanish and English, allowing you to read or listen to detailed information about each species featured in the photographs and explanatory panels. Information is also available in an easy-to-read format.

If you have activated the NFC reader on your mobile phone, simply place it in the designated area marked on the map and on the signs at the tactile-visual stations.

At the end of the route, on your right, you will find our beloved Bonsai Collection. Please be mindful that these trees require regular watering, so although we do our best to keep the area clean, there may be some water on the ground.
