El Canyar Park, in terms of botany, brings together more than 100 different species, most of them from the Mediterranean climate. Some (olive Pomegranate, palm, carob, etc.) remind us of the ancient agricultural nature of these lands. While others (lledoner, tamaric, lentiscle, oleander, etc.) show us the rich botanical diversity of the Valencian Community; and other non-native species of a more ornamental nature (cockscomb, grevilleas, bahunias, etc.) create a green space ideal for the simple enjoyment of a stroll or a bench in the shade, or for any of the activities allowed by the various park facilities.
The most notable examples include the Canary Island dragon tree, the bottle trees surrounding the park, and the five-branched date palm. This variety can reach over 20 m in height. You'll find one this tall in the park.
On the other hand, within the complex we find a playground, an exercise area and a petanque court.
El Canyar Park offers a wide range of possibilities. It hosts cultural events throughout the year. This venue hosts concerts, dance performances, stand-up comedy shows, culinary events, and more. It's a more than suitable setting to attract visitors from all over the province. A meeting point to promote tourism and traffic in the municipality.
The local trail SL-CV 152 El Canyar de les Portelles – El Calvari starts from here. A path through the town centre and surrounding areas of Mutxamel where you can see the Parish Church with its defensive tower, the Plaza Nova, traditional houses with their overhangs, orchard houses such as Finca la Costera, Finca La Horteta or Finca El de Caballo, and the Hermitage of Sant Antoni and the Hermitage of Calvari, which can be accessed via a cypress path.
