Considered by many to be the world's finest art gallery, it is a must-see. It houses the best international collection of Spanish painting from the 16th to the 18th centuries. It also boasts important works from the Flemish and Venetian schools, as well as German, French, and English paintings. A few years ago, it was expanded with the addition of the Jerónimos Cloister, a renovation designed by the architect Rafael Moneo.
