The village of Gorliz

The origins of Gorliz go back to the 7th century, according to what the archaeologists who excavated around the parish church were able to find out. Here they found indications that certify that the municipality grew until it acquired its current form from a small village made up of modest wooden constructions identified by numerous post holes, cuts in the rock, cobblestones, ashes, hearths and bonfires. In them fragments of kitchen pots made of clay and an iron llar have appeared.
