Azkuna Zentroa

View on map

Azkuna Zentroa, whose red brick and turrets are visible among the bushes of Plaza Arriquibar, is a reminder of Iñaki Azkuna, the former mayor and the driving force behind Bilbao's transformation. It is a former wine warehouse converted into a large cultural hub by architect and designer Philippe Starck. 43,000 square meters are alive with exhibitions, concerts, conferences, reading areas, cinemas, and a cutting-edge transparent-floor pool.

*In two images we see different exterior views of the Azkuna Center's façade and architecture, a side view and the main entrance.

Don't miss a visit inside. You'll be amazed by the 47 majestic columns in the main atrium. Each one is unique, symbolizing "the myriad cultures, wars, and religions experienced by mankind throughout history."
