Reina Victoria Neighborhood

View on map

Walking through the streets of the Reina Victoria residential neighborhood is like rediscovering a 19th-century space where Huelva's history was one of industry, mining, and British influence. In what is now Huelva's urban center, the Rio Tinto Company Limited designed a neighborhood that provided housing for its workers.

Today, the neighborhood—declared a Historic Site—presents a varied aesthetic appearance, the result of different construction phases and the various extensions made to the original project by Gonzalo Aguado and Pérez Carasa in 1916 and the subsequent ones by WAMorgan starting in 1917.

Explore its streets and enjoy the experience of visiting a residential area popularly known by the people of Huelva as the "Barrio Obrero."
