The construction of this sanctuary dates back to the 15th century, and its origins are closely linked to the adventure of the Discovery. Local sailors who participated in the feat and sailed from this city to the Americas were already devoted to the Virgin, who is located on the main altar of the Sanctuary, a fresco painting attached to the wall, enthroned on an 18th-century Baroque altarpiece.
