Welcome

The Llanada Alavesa (Arabako Lautada in Basque) is one of the seven districts (cuadrillas) that make up Álava. It lies in the north-east of the province, between the mountain ranges of the Aizkorri-Aratz and Entzia Natural Parks and the Ullibarri-Gamboa reservoir. Alongside its capital, Agurain/Salvatierra, this is a region of wide open landscapes dotted with charming villages and farmland. It boasts a rich heritage of castles, dolmens and other megalithic sites, and it is crossed by ancient routes such as the Camino de Santiago (St James’ Way) and the Camino Real de Postas (Royal Post Road). Its almost wild nature—oak woods, waterfalls and caves—sits alongside Romanesque churches with painted interiors and a calm rural life that preserves the character of this territory.

Welcome to the Llanada Alavesa.
