Parish Church of Our Lady of Arbuel

View on map

A small, rather simple church, with a square bell tower on the left side topped by a quaint octagonal belfry. It is dedicated to Our Lady of Arbuel and has a chapel where Jesus of Nazareth, patron saint of Villamanrique de Tajo, is venerated.

Its patron saint celebrations in honour of Jesus of Nazareth are held in the second week of September, with bullfights, the Toro del aguardiente bull running event, and a cattle drive for children.

View of the town’s hermitage, around which Villamanrique was founded in the late 15th or early 16th century, and which gave its name to the municipality’s patron saint.
