3. Grand Hotel

View on map

Palma is a city dotted with Modernist buildings. One of the most recognizable and emblematic is the Gran Hotel, currently home to the CaixaForum Palma. Designed by architect Lluís Domènech, it is one of the first Modernist buildings in the city (1903). It was also a pioneering hotel on the island: the first to have electricity and a telephone.

Its interior is open to visitors because it hosts temporary exhibitions and a permanent one that is a coherent gift to the building: a collection by the modernist painter Hermen Anglada Camarasa.
