1. BIZKAIA BRIDGE
Bizkaia Bridge, more popularly known as the Hanging Bridge, is the oldest shuttle bridge in world (1893). Go up to the pedestrian walkway and you will enjoy some extraordinary views.
2. THE BIG VILLAS PROMENADE
A pleasant audioguided route where information panels will help you relive Getxo’s golden years. Enjoy this pedestrian walk along the sea on foot or by bicycle (2.300 m.).
3. OLD FISHING PORT
Algorta’s Old Fishing Port has survived the passage of time, conserving all its charm. In addition to fine fishermen, the people of the Old Port were renowned as expert pilots who guided at the mouth of the river estuary.
Today, this district with its gaily coloured fishermen’s cottages and narrow streets, is a weekend favourite among the Getxo natives and visitors, who come together to have some glasses of wine, “pintxos” or simply stroll and enjoy the magnificent.
4. LA GALEA
La Galea is a beautiful coastal fringe formed by a succession of cliffs, beaches and inlets with marvellous panoramic views of the coastline. Don’t miss it!
