What is the City of Arts and Sciences?

The City of Arts and Sciences is a group of buildings

leisure to enjoy culture and science.

It occupies 2 kilometers of the old bed of the Turia River

and is the work of the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava.

It's a must-see if you come to Valencia.

You can visit it with family or friends.

You will need to buy tickets for the buildings that interest you most,

You can buy them separately or together.

There is a lot to see, you have the Hemisfèric,

the Science Museum and the Oceanogràfic.

1- THE HEMISPHERIC

The Hemisfèric is a 3D digital cinema,

It has a huge 900-meter screen

that almost envelops the spectators.

Several films are shown every day.

Most of them are educational documentaries

for all audiences.

There is usually a children's movie once a day.

Movies are usually 45 minutes long.

Upon entering, you will be given some new 3D glasses.

which are used to watch the movie and to change the language.

We recommend that you look at the billboard

and book the movie that interests you the most

before starting the visit to other buildings

from the City of Arts and Sciences.

2- PRINCE PHILIP SCIENCE MUSEUM

This museum offers exhibits on science and technology

with which you can interact and touch.

Their motto is “No touching allowed.”

You can enter without a ticket on the ground floor.

There is usually a temporary exhibition there,

some shops, restrooms and a restaurant.

For the other exhibitions you need a ticket.

The Museum also offers scientific workshops

for all audiences.

For the workshops you must purchase a separate ticket.

3- PALAU DE LES ARTS REINA SOFÍA

The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía offers shows

opera, concerts, zarzuela or ballet.

It is perfect for music lovers.

4- THE UMBRACLE

L'Umbracle is a huge garden of more than seventeen thousand square meters.

You can walk around it freely, no ticket is required.

You will be able to see typical Mediterranean plants and contemporary sculptures.

The Mya terrace opens its doors on summer nights

and you can have a drink under the moonlight.

Inside L'Umbracle there is also the L'Umbracle Terrace.

It is a garden full of charm

and illuminated by moonlight and candles.

It is the ideal space for events,

such as parades, gala dinners, or VIP booths.

Just below l'Umbracle is the public parking lot

from the City of Arts and Sciences.

5- THE AGORA

The Agora is the newest building

from the City of Arts and Sciences.

It is a space for events of all kinds.

It is usually closed to the public and cannot be visited.

6- ASSUR D'OR LITTLE BRIDGE

It is another work by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava.

The Assut de l'Or Bridge crosses the old bed of the Turia River

between the Science Museum and the Agora.

It has several lanes for traffic

and in the center there is a pedestrian walkway

which connects the two banks of the Turia Garden.
