The Painted Churches of the Llanada
The so-called Painted Churches of the Llanada Alavesa (Gazeo, Alaiza, Añua and Arbulo) form a unique group in the Basque Country, preserving an outstanding heritage of medieval wall paintings. All of them are part of a visitor route managed by the Agurain-Salvatierra Tourist Office.
Official guided visits to the Painted Churches of the Llanada (Gazeo, Alaiza, Añua, Arbulo and Agurain-Salvatierra) are organised by the Agurain-Salvatierra Tourist Office.
They take place on weekends and public holidays. In July and August, visits also run on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Travel between churches is by private car.
