Soen
César de Fernando Bravo, better known as Soen, was born in Madrid in 1987. In 2000, he began painting graffiti, which gave him experience in the spray paint technique and expanded his field of artistic creation.
Her formal artistic studies include two years of Artistic Baccalaureate at Art School No. 3 in Madrid. Since then, she has produced numerous small and large-scale artworks in Madrid, the rest of Spain, and other countries.
At the same time, he has developed a personal painting style characterized by a mix of decomposed figurative elements, with superimposed shapes and letters from his graffiti style, combining all of this with unfinished forms and some casual brushstrokes.
The artist considers himself versatile in his work's themes. In some, he seeks to convey a message of social, political, and economic criticism, seeking to create a debate between the legal and the moral. In others, he instills a degree of tenderness, reflecting personal experiences, and even touches on themes of history and local customs.
He participates in numerous urban art exhibitions and festivals, such as the international Art Aero Rap, held annually in La Bañeza, León, Spain.
In 2017, his work "Teta y sopa" was selected for the 52nd Reina Sofía Painting and Sculpture Award exhibition in Madrid.
In 2018, he was selected to create a large-format participatory mural in the Arganzuela district as part of the Madrid City Council's Sharing Walls program.
In 2019, she created a participatory mural with students at the Alameda de Osuna Secondary School, as part of a social program supported by the Barajas District Council. That same year, she held her first solo exhibition at Writers Madrid, entitled "Alegal." She also created a mural, a project supported by the Department of Culture and Equality of Colmenar Viejo (Madrid), which opens on the 25th of this month, the International Day Against Gender Violence.
In 2020, given the circumstances surrounding the coronavirus, he took the opportunity to create several oil paintings on canvas.
In May 2021, he was selected for the “Street art City” artist residency (France), where he left a mural and a canvas for his gallery.
In July, he created a large-format mural for the “Galería Vertical” project in Reinosa, Cantabria, (Spain).
In September, he participated in “Pompei Street Art” (Italy) and in October in the “I Art Madonie” project, Sicily, (Italy).
In March 2022, he opens a solo exhibition at “Street art City” (France), with 9 works.
In April, he participates in the “Gargar festival” in Penelles, Catalonia, (Spain).
In June, participate in “MXArtstour” in Morlaix, Brittany, (France).
In July, he participated in the “Art Against Oblivion” project in Torre del Valle, Zamora, Spain.
In September, he participated in the “Seis de Doce” festival in Los Realejos, Tenerife, (Spain).
