33. "I still remember when I left, but not when I came back," Carlos Adeva, 2022

Description of the work:

A floral dress at the bottom, from which some of the flowers are falling. Over the dress is a closed suitcase, and on top of it is a hat. To the right of the hat is a small photo of a woman dressed in folk costume.
The entire mural is painted in shades of blue. The background is the wall, and on it appear lines in different directions, as well as rye-colored circles.
It's about a woman's preparations for her trip before putting on her dress and packing her suitcase. She has to leave the village in search of a better future, like many women who have had to leave for the city in search of new opportunities.
The luggage is very small because I didn't have much else to carry, including a photo of a loved one's memento. The striped background symbolizes the countryside.

Carlos Adeva (Toro 1974)

His paintings are free of stigmas and difficult to classify within a specific movement, although they are influenced by early Cubism, Baroque, and Byzantine Gothic, which formed the aesthetic space of his childhood in the province of Zamora. He is currently a professor of painting techniques at CEARCAL and is deeply focused on his work as a muralist in public spaces.

In 2015, his work DESaTINO , a visual reflection on an ancient oriental legend, won first prize at the 16th ACOR painting awards in Castile and León.
