In the city center is the town hall building, which has undergone several renovations throughout its history. The 1654 construction followed the typical Spanish town hall architecture, with multi-arched arcades on the lower floor and a continuous balcony on the upper floor.
The current building is basically the one designed by Antonio de Vega in 1755. Vega proposed a three-story building framed by two towers topped by Baroque-style eaves. At the end of the 19th century, the Castro architect Eladio Laredo modified the central section, topping it with a graceful crenellated tower, but retained the portico with semicircular arches.
The town hall, in an eclectic and modernist artistic style, is a building of Archaeological and Historical Artistic Interest.
