Carabaña - Rural heritage and nature

View on map

Carabaña stands on the banks of the River Tajuña, where water gushes from all four sides, as you will see if you walk the route through the town past its fountains and cave houses. It is really worth taking a stroll through the town to see its whitewashed houses, along streets that lead you to wonderful places like the square of Plaza de España. The most important monument is the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption from the 16th century, and its eminent past is evidenced by several palaces, including the so-called Palace of the Viceroy of the Indies.

One of the most beautiful stretches of the Tajuña Greenway passes through Carabaña and the 40-Day Train Greenway also starts here. We invite you to get to know its history through its excavated rock faces, and to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings of Carabaña.

And you can’t leave Carabaña without trying its olive oil and the delicious produce from its farmland, famous throughout Madrid.
