Located on a hill overlooking the town, next to the remains of a tower from the Middle Ages and the walls of the old castle, this church is consecrated under the title of St. Mary of the Castle
It was built on the foundations of a former medieval church that served as the castle’s chapel and later as the village’s parish church, and remains from that period are still there. However, most of the current church dates back to the 17th century, with an impressive wooden coffered ceiling and a hemispherical dome on pendentives.
It has a Latin cross floor plan with a single nave and Tuscan columns, cross vaults and semicircular arches. Its walls are stonework, with ashlars at the corners, topped with a carved stone cornice.
The belfry is located at the base of the church. A wooden crucifix with mother-of pearl inlay and two silver reliquaries from the 17th century are kept inside.
