Hermitage of Our Lady of the Olive Tree

View on map

Tradition has it that this hermitage takes its name from a miracle in which the Virgin Mary appeared over an olive tree. This work of architecture dates back to the early 16th century, and every 8 September a pilgrimage is organised led by the Hermandad de la Virgen de la Oliva (Sisterhood of Our Lady of The Olive Tree), which is made up only of women.

Main façade of the hermitage, a simple 16th-century building. It bears this name because, according to tradition, the Virgin appeared on an olive tree.
