In 1910, it was decided to cover this old washing place, now transformed into an idyllic green spot in Campo Real where several walking paths lead off. In the past, farm animals drank from there, clothes were washed and olives were also washed in the basin prior to dressing them. For this reason, the corporation of olive growers agreed that in the Fuente de los Siete Caños (Fountain of the Seven Spouts) olives could be put in pots from 8pm to 5am, leaving one spout free, so that those who used the water to wash olives would leave the stream clean. Today, this spring is still used to irrigate the small meadow near it. Until a few years ago, it also supplied water to the town by means of pumps that took it down Calle de la Vega and Calle Rivas to tanks located in the highest part of the town, under the church, and from there it would flow naturally down to the houses in the town. Now, due to the high demand for water flow required by users, the town’s water supply comes from Canal de Isabel II in Torres de la Alameda.
