Perales de Tajuña - Rural heritage and oil mills

View on map

Perales de Tajuña is a picturesque town with beautiful steep streets that provide plenty of water and fountains. On the streets of Calle Mayor Baja and Calle Mayor Alta, you will find the La Mariblanca and El Cuartel fountains, both near the square where the Town Hall is located. The 17th-century Church of St. Mary of the Castle, formerly a fortress with a stunning coffered ceiling, can be reached via the street of Calle de En Medio.

Perales de Tajuña has a lot of lovely walking routes: its section of the Tajuña Greenway; the narrow streets of the town centre that lead to the church, where you can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding meadows; and the Fountains Route. But the most interesting of all is the route that leads to the Cliff of Caves: a small troglodyte town with beautiful views of the Tajuña valley, which you can learn more about at the Interpretation Centre.

Nuestros sabores

You cannot possibly leave this place without trying our oil at the La Peraleña Cooperative, which offers tours of its oil mill and olive tree fields. This exquisite oil is used to fry Perales de Tajuña’s famous potato crisps, made using an artisan recipe that is over 30 years old.
