Valdelaguna - Walks and Wine

View on map

Valdelaguna hangs over steps on several hillsides and is surrounded by lush vegetation that invites you to take a stroll.

It has a wine museum housed in the Casa Grande, one of Valdelaguna’s historic buildings, together with the church of Our Lady of the Assumption, the Priest’s House and the old washing places, which have been tastefully restored to preserve the memory of old domestic chores.

You cannot possibly leave without tasting our D.O. Madrid wines at the Bodega de Pablo Morate winery, which features in the Madrid Wine Tourism Route, where you can learn about the whole process of how Madrid wines are made.

Take a walk

  • Valdelaguna has prepared several scenic routes, so visitors can discover the municipality’s environmental assets. This includes the Fountains route (‘Las Fuentes’), which is 9 km long and starts on the M-315 road out of the municipality.

Another route is the path along the river plain (‘La Vega’), which is worthwhile as it stops at the Peña Huevera view point with views of the fields in Valdelaguna.

The walk starts in the Municipal Park and is 4 km long. The board in the Municipal Park provides more information about these routes.
