Environmental Routes through Valdelaguna

Valdelaguna has prepared several scenic routes, so visitors can discover the municipality’s environmental assets. This includes the Fountains route (‘Las Fuentes’), along the road to Morata, centred around the most important resources of these agricultural and livestock farming towns, closely tied to the culture of water: the water troughs and fountains. You can visit those of La Tejera, María and Valviejo, where you can take a rest and have a snack. The route is 9 km long there and back, and is rather easy to complete. Another route is the path along the river plain (‘La Vega’), which is worthwhile as it stops at the Peña Huevera viewpoint with views of the fields in Valdelaguna. The walk starts in this very municipal park and is 4 km long.

-        Fountains Route On foot, by bike or as part of a bike tour for beginners. In summer, use proper sun protection. Take extra care at the junction of the M-315 road.

-        River Plain Route Bike tour from the start of the route to the M-317 road. Take extra care when crossing this road.

Entrance to the municipal park near the town’s plain, an essential setting for celebrations and events held during local festivities. It shelters a wide variety of plant species typical of the area, such as poplars and the ever-present olive trees.
