34. "Iohannitius, the master sculptor", Rage. 2023

Description of the work:

It represents the sculptor and stone craftsman Rodrigo de la Torre, who died in March 2023. It is a tribute to a great craftsman, artist, and friend with whom I collaborated on a stonework project and with whom I shared a great passion for the craft of stonemasons and stone sculptors.

As a wink, I use a phrase used by Picasso, but adding the link with the profession of sculptor and it says:

“Creativity exists... but it has to find you carving”

Author:   Rage

“I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pay tribute to Rodrigo, because the first time I participated in Art Against Oblivion, Rodrigo was inaugurating a sculpture at La Torre del Valle, and in his own words, he told the mayor that I was going to create a good mural.”

And so it was, however, we never imagined it would be a posthumous tribute.
