44. "Silence that sighs" Gela Ramoss. 2025

Description of the work:

This work represents the stifled cry of those who have been silenced by gender-based violence. The female figure emerges among other fluid forms, symbolizing the fading of her voice, as if the world were trying to snuff out her existence. However, her parted lips and gaze evoke resistance, a desire to break the silence and be heard. The gray tones reflect the coldness of oppression, while the intense red in the background represents the strength, struggle, and pain that cannot be ignored. The fluidity of the lines evokes the constant struggle between invisibility and resilience, a reminder that every woman's voice must be recognized and respected. It is a call to reflection: it is not enough to see; we must listen and act. Gender equality will only be real when the imposed silence is transformed into justice and freedom.
