The Orchard of the Vega del Tajuña and the Tajuña Greenway

View on map

Before you is the beautiful, lush Tajuña Valley, where the orchards of Orusco de Tajuña are famous for their tomatoes. We recommend you come and try them, along with other products from their orchards, such as cucumbers. The crystal clear waters of the Tajuña have given Orusco de Tajuña one of the best vegetable gardens in these lowlands. The Orchard of the Vega del Tajuña and the Tajuña Greenway.

You can experience and enjoy all of this firsthand by taking the Tajuña Greenway. It is just over 5 km to Ambite, a practically flat path that ends at the Ambite recreational zone, and which is one of the most beautiful stretches of the entire Tajuña Greenway, passing over bridges, forests and cliffs next to the River Tajuña.

From Orusco de Tajuña to Carabaña there is another 5 km of practically flat terrain, between grain fields and hills covered with olive trees. On reaching Carabaña, the Tajuña Greenway meets the 40-Day Train Greenway. The interesting backstory is that of a train built in 40 days (hence its name) during the Civil War, to overcome the blockade to which the national side was subjecting Madrid. This path goes to Estremera, between dug outs made for the train tracks, bridges and tunnels, and is one of the most picture-perfect, unique walking routes in the Las Vegas district.
