In Tielmes, time seems to have stopped still, making little time capsules through its fascinating museums: La Casa-Escuela Rural (Rural School House), La Casa-Cueva (Cave House) and El Antiguo Lavadero Municipal (Old Municipal Washing Place), which show us what it was like to live in times not so long ago.
The Tajuña Greenway passes through here, offering lovely spots to relax like El Presón. The nearly 8 km of greenway that goes from here to Carabaña are the most beautiful and representative of the Tajuña river plain. It is well worth going up to see the views from the ‘most beautiful bench in Tielmes’, where you can appreciate the entire river plain.
Join us in celebrating our most famous festivals
- Judas Festival Easter Sunday.
We recommend you visit on Easter Sunday to experience the Judas Festival, where young people gather to burn a symbolic Judas figure in the main square. Once the final ritual is over, they go to the countryside to celebrate the event ‘Correr el Hornazo’ where they enjoy a delicious cake made of egg and flour.
- Patron Saint Feast of the Child Saints Justus and Pastor First week of August.
On 5 August, one of the most beautiful processions in the area takes place, going through the Tajuña river plain up to the Hermitage of the Child Saints located at the foot of the Mártires cliff.
Our Flavours
Tielmes’ oil is one of its highlights, and you cannot possibly miss the chance to buy some from its traditional oil mill, recognised as one of the oldest in Spain. A visit here is a real must. It also has its own winery, where we recommend trying the wine.
