Hermitage of St. Isidore

View on map

Built between 1967 and 1970, this hermitage stands on lands that were generously donated by locals from the town, for the purpose of housing the figure of the patron saint of farmers and honouring him.

Its architecture, made of brick and cement, is simple with very little decoration, in tune with the stark life of St. Isidore.

Patron Saint of Villaconejos, whose feast day is celebrated every year on 15 May, when the traditional pilgrimage takes place in the fields in his honour.

View of the patron saint of farmers, of much more recent construction. Its origins date back to 1968, when two local residents donated the land for its building. Simple in style and without ornamentation, it was built of brick and cement.
