Ruzafa was an independent municipality until 1877,
It is now a neighborhood in the Ensanche district,
south of the center of Valencia.
It is bordered by Reino de Valencia Avenue.
We can still visit old buildings,
like the Ruzafa market
that Julio Bellot Senet built in the 1950s
with a beautiful colorful facade.
It is located in the center of the neighborhood,
in front of the Church of San Valero and San Vicente Mártir,
baroque style.
In just one decade, Ruzafa has become a trendy neighborhood.
The usual neighbors live together
with new young neighbors with modern and different tastes.
It is a multicultural, diverse, passionate and very active neighborhood.
The mixture of cultures has created a revolution
affecting commerce, gastronomy , culture, leisure
and all the life of its streets.
The main Valencian chefs chose Ruzafa
to install their most daring and innovative restaurants
We have the Canalla Bistro by Ricard Camarena
or Quique Dacosta's Mercat Bar.
We can also find cuisine from all over the world.
For example, we can enjoy the Nozomi Sushi Bar,
Bouet, Fierro or the Taqueria la Llorona.
Its craft breweries also stand out,
like Olhöps or Ruzanuvol,
and its cafes with pastries,
such as Dulce de Leche, La Más Bonita and Bluebell Coffee.
If you like art, you can visit the Espai Tactel galleries,
of contemporary art,
and Pepita Lumier, on illustration.
Also noteworthy are the Obsolete Letterpress printing house,
the Gotham comic book store
and Gnome designer items.
To have a coffee while reading a good book
There is Ubik Café, which has books in different languages.
You also have a good number of cocktail bars.
if you like nightlife.
And if what you like is indie music,
You will find it in small live music venues
or in big clubs, such as Nylon, Electropura and Play.
