Fuente de arriba Fountain

View on map

Built in 1840, this Colmenar limestone structure features a square basin, and in its centre stands a pilaster decorated with four bronze spouts. The flowing water creates a soft, steady melody, gliding into a trough and finally landing in a second basin. The three large poplar trees located by the fountain stand as silent witnesses to the passing seasons. Offer shade and coolness, making the fountain a place of tranquillity. This is a great meeting spot for locals and visitors seeking a moment of peace under their leafy branches. It is also the perfect place for a rest for those doing the CiclaMadrid Trail that passes right through here.

Made up of three small basins and four spouts, just a few metres from the Lower Fountain, both located on the well-known Paseo de las Fuentes.
